On the occasion of midsummer’s Eve, Hotel Ozone is pleased to invite you to Vulgární Lajdačka, a project by Glasgow-based artist Alice Brooke. Vulgární Lajdačka will present Alice Brooke’s research into bodies, the law and technologies. With a performance and exhibition specifically developed for the intimate living space of Hotel Ozone Alice will explore the imaginative potential of touch, collectivity and voice. Using grounding meditation techniques from the witch activist Starhawk, smartphone apps and psycho-active herbs collected from the riverbanks, ditches and wastelands of Prague 7, the project questions current biopolitical frameworks and their gendered connotations.
The exhibition will be accompanied by Afterpill, the ziine with texts by Alice Brooke and Hana Janeckova and the reading list compilled by Alice Brooke that will be available on the Hotel Ozone's website.
Alice Brooke lives in Glasgow, Scotland. Her work includes drawing, photography, moving image and performance. Her work is erratic and inconsistent. It often finds itself channeled back, looping through thoughts about the problems with white feminism, subjective perceptions of time, what autonomy feels like and how we can manipulate technologies as the tools of resistance.

Humours, Glasgow School of Art MFA Degree Show, Glue Factory, Glasgow, 2016. Chateux Double Wide, a group exhibition for Glasgow International, Glasgow, 2016. Dual Habit, with Beatrice Loft Schulz, Glasgow Project Rooms, Glasgow, 2016. Re-Materialising Feminism, co-curator, ICA and The Showroom, London, and is one of the initiators of Other Feminist Reading Group.
Při příležitosti Svatojánské noci Vás srdečně zveme do Hotelu Ozone na Vulgární Lajdačku, projekt britské umělkyně Alice Brooke, která žije a pracuje ve Skotském Glasgow. Pro Vulgární Lajdačku Alice Brooke prezentuje svůj dlouhodobý výzkum vztahů těla, medicíny, technologií a práva. V performanci a samostatné výstavě specificky vytvořené pro intimní prostor Hotelu Ozone Alice pracuje s imaginárním potenciálem doteku, kolektivity a hlasu. Projekt se zabývá současnými biopolitickými rámci a jejich genderovými konotacemi, použitím základních meditačních technik čarodějky aktivistky Starhawk, aplikací chytrých telefonů a psychoaktivních bylin nasbíraných v příkopech, pustinách a na březích řeky Vltavy v Praze 7.
Výstava bude doprovázena zinem Pilulka s texty Alice Brooke a Hany Janečkové a čtenářským listem vybraným Alice Brooke k tématu výstavy, který bude ke stažení z webstránky Hotelu Ozone.
Alice Brooke žije a pracuje v Glasgow, Skotsko. Pracuje s kresbou, fotografií, pohyblivým obrazem a performancí. Její práce je eratická a nenavazující, ale často pohybuje ve smyčce skrze myšlenky o problémech s bílým feminismem, subjektivním vnímáním času, s tím jak prožíváme autonomii a jak můžeme využít technologie jako nástroj odporu.
